Cedric “Rick” W. Vogel, Esq. practiced law in several civil areas including probate and estate administration, trust, commercial debt collection, and landlord and tenant. He served as a partner for twenty-five years (1972-1997) in the firm of Vogel, Heis, Wenstrup & Cameron, before becoming Of Counsel to the firm, now known as Heis & Wenstrup, and solo practicing.  Mr. Vogel holds a 1968 Yale College Bachelor of Arts degree (Economics major) and a 1971 Harvard Law School Juris Doctorate degree.  While at Harvard Law School, Mr. Vogel enlisted in the U.S. Army and was in the Army ROTC from 1969 to 1970. After graduating from Harvard Law School, Mr. Vogel returned to his home town Cincinnati, Ohio, to practice law in the firm founded by his father in 1932. He was admitted to the practice of law in Ohio in 1972, in Florida in 1973, the U.S. Tax Court in 1972, and the Supreme Court of the United States in 1975. Additionally, he holds an Ohio real estate sales license.

Besides being a Member of the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Florida Bar, Mr. Vogel has been highly active in his local community. A partial list of his activities follows. He was President of The Lawyers Club of Cincinnati. He was honored to be elected to the Cincinnatus Association, which was founded in 1920 to promote good municipal government and its members are considered to be among the top 100 civic leaders of the Cincinnati area. He became a Member of the Society of Colonial Wars in the State of Ohio, and was Secretary from 2017 to 2019. He was Chairman in 2018 of the 109th General Council Meeting of the General Society of Colonial Wars. He is a Member of the Cincinnati Yale Club (Yale’s Oldest Alumni Club founded in 1864) and served as President in 1979-1980 and in 1997-1998. He is a Member of the Yale Alumni Association and was the Cincinnati Delegate to the YAA Assemblies 1985-1987 and 2016-2019.  He served as the Organizer and Co-Chairman of the 150th Anniversary Celebration of the founding of the Cincinnati Yale Club in 2014, and received the award for the Outstanding Small Cities Award given by the Yale Alumni Association in 2015. He is a member of the Harvard Club of Cincinnati (President 2000) and the Harvard Law School Association of Cincinnati (President 1997-1999 and 2003-2019). He was the Harvard Alumni Association Regional Director for the Ohio Valley 2007-2010.  He has been a supporter of the Cincinnati POPS Orchestra, the Cincinnati Ballet, the Cincinnati Opera, the Cincinnati May Festival, and the Friends of Music Hall.

In life and law practice, Mr. Vogel honored the “four i’s (integrity, intelligence, initiative, and industry) as suggested to him by a retiring Probate Court Judge. He found the practice of law hard work but helping clients solve their legal problems rewarding.
